Perhaps, you're one of the less-than-handful that hasn't seen, heard, of been told about the Jon Stewart riff on CNBC (and his follow-up comments on Letterman).

Will Bunch of Attytood was just as impressed, but posited another perspective on it.

What Battered Newsrooms Can Learn From Stewart's CNBC Takedown

The piece wasn't just the laugh-out-loud funniest thing on TV all week (and this was a week in which NBC rebroadcast the SNL "more cowbell" sketch, so that's saying a lot) but it was exquisitely reported, insightful, and it tapped into America's real anger about the financial crisis in a way that mainstream journalism has found so elusive all these months. As one commenter on the Romenesko blog noted earlier today, "it's simply pathetic that one has to watch a comedy show to see things like this."

But that's not all. The Stewart piece also got the kind of eyeballs that most newsrooms would kill for in this digital age -- planted atop many, many major political, media and business Web sites -- and the kind of water-cooler chatter that journalists would crave in any age. In a time when newspapers are flat-out dying if not dealing with bankruptcy or massive job losses, while other types of news orgs aren't faring much better, the journalistic success of a comedy show rant shouldn't be viewed as a stick in the eye -- but a teachable moment. Why be a curmudgeon about kids today getting all their news from a comedy show, when it's not really that hard to join Stewart in his own idol-smashing game.

New Garlic Poll ... If the GOP Governors don't want the Stimulus Money, Obama should ...

These guys certainly would qualify, all by themselves, as a boatload of Ignorant Dolts.

Louisiana's Bobby Jindal, Mississippi's Haley Barbor, South Carolina's Mark Sanford, and some others, have all firmly inserted their heads up their rear ends, and have come out bashing the Stimulus Package, all saying they would reject it, or a certain amount of it.

It's all part of their new/old, Back-To-The-Future, Newt Gingrich-Contract-On-America strategy, that is going to sweep them back into power

See, by saying no, becoming the party of "No", being the obstructionists to the reigniting of our economy, they are placing all their chips on President Obama failing, just so they can hit the campaign trails with a "Naa, Naa, Naa, Naa, Naa ... We told you so!".

Other than it will hurt scores-of-hundreds-of-thousands around the country, in their respective states, I would be inclined to say "Go For It!" ... Keep listening to the Cheeseburger That Sweats (aka Rush Limbaugh; H/T to Barry Crimmins for that), and the new Town Crier, Rick Santelli... Let them lead you to even further irrelevance.

So, we thought, rather than waste energy on them, we'd offer up a few options for President Obama, on what to do with the money they are rejecting.

If the GOP Governors don't want the Stimulus Money, Obama should ...

Give it to his daughters

Buy John McCain a helicopter

Go to Las Vegas and "stimulate" the crap tables

Stash it away in a Slush Fund for 2012

Day Care? ... What Day Care?

We don't have to show you no Day Care! ... We don't have to show you no stinkin' Day Care! ...

Once you get past the U.S. News and Report's Washington Whispers on-line poll, that is sail past their sexism and misogyny, you realize what a dunder-headed farce it is.



Putting that up is as about as tone-deaf as the NY Post, and their editorial brilliance.

And, they simply don't see the handwritting on the wall.

It's clear now, that since Rick Santelli's foot-in-mouth rant, and all these burgeoning Tea Party's, the "Silent Majority" (since Obama's election, this can now be a substitute for "Right Wing Freak Show") is going to rise up and overthrow the government.



They will install Sarah Palin as the new Prez (Bobby Jindal finally gets the VP slot), and with a cabinet, and advisors, such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Michael Savage, O'Reilly (Michelle "Stalkin" Malkin lobbies for, and gets, the job of running the internment camps), they are going to turn off the Stimulus spigot, and everyone, excepting Wall Street Executives, Halliburton (and KBR), and all the former Bush Grindhouse cronies, will have to work (Xe will be in place to maintain the order).

That includes children.

There will be no Day Care ... It won't exist in the Silent Majority's world.

Why spend money on them? ... SCHIPS and Head Start will be abolished ... There will be no excuses - they work, just like eveyone else.

They can be taught to make baskets, or sacks, for those Wall Street guys to carry home their loot.

Or, Malkin can have them cleaning up the grounds of the Internment Camps.

The Asian and Mexican Human Rights campaigns, showing the new abusive U.S. policy of child labor, will fall on deaf ears, and put those places on the revived Axis of Evil List, with Richard Perle drawing up a new plan of preemptive attacks (though, this will still be unclear to, and not explainable by, President Palin).

Sounds far-fetched, heh?
