Muted McCain Moola

Could it be the product is past its' sale date?

Or, is this just a microscopic view of the difference that is going to become bigger and bigger as the general election gets underway.

Barack Obama, virtually, has mountains of cash flying out of his computer screen, raising unprecedented amounts of money on-line, and via small, extremely small donations.

Stumblin' Bumblin' John McCain is going about putting on five-figure, rubber chicken dinners, with his best-buddy, The Commander Guy, that can't sell enough tickets and have to be downsized from convention centers, to private residences.

McCain/Bush Fundraiser Moved To Smaller Quarters Due To Poor Ticket Sales/Fears Of Protest;

A Tuesday fundraiser headlined by President Bush for U.S. Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign is being moved out of the Phoenix Convention Center.

Sources familiar with the situation said the Bush-McCain event was not selling enough tickets to fill the Convention Center space, and that there were concerns about more anti-war protesters showing up outside the venue than attending the fundraiser inside.

And here's the Bush Grindhouse spin on it;
Now, both of the public events will be at private residences.

As recently as Wednesday, Salt Lake media were saying the event would be at the Grand America.

A White House official gave the same explanation as the McCain campaign: “As you know, we have a practice of having fundraisers in public venues as open to press and fundraisers in private residences closed to press to preserve the hosts' privacy. The [McCain campaign’s] practice has been to have all fundraisers be closed. And so a decision was made to move the location to comply with the practices.”

The Phoenix Business Journal reports that other factors also played a part: “Sources familiar with the situation said the Bush-McCain event was not selling enough tickets to fill the Convention Center space, and that there were concerns about more anti-war protesters showing up outside the venue than attending the fundraiser inside.”

SB McCain fundraiser ... Private residences ...

Hmmm ... I wonder if any of this homes ever received financing from the ol' Lincoln Savings and Loan Association that Stumblin' Bumblin' John was happy to help out, back in the day ...

Or, as to the low interest in tickets, maybe these fat cat supporters aren't buying into the GOP's fantasy spin that's floating around

Get ready for a laugh;

GOP strategists mull McCain ‘blowout’
It sounds crazy at first. Amid dire reports about the toxic political environment for Republican candidates and the challenges facing John McCain, many top GOP strategists believe he can defeat Barack Obama — and by a margin exceeding President Bush’s Electoral College victory in 2004.

But the contours of the electoral map, combined with McCain’s unique strengths and the nature of Obama’s possible vulnerabilities, have led to a cautious and muted optimism that McCain could actually surpass Bush’s 35-electoral-vote victory in 2004. Though they expect he would finish far closer to Obama in the popular vote, the thinking is that he could win by as many 50 electoral votes

We did say it was laughable.

McCain's going to have his hands full just pulling in his own GOP base, or what's left of it, let alone courting others.

The Garlic said it before, and we'll say it again;
"The Dems could put up the dead guy from 'Weekend at Bernie's' and still walk away with it ..."

Oh no ...

We better be careful, tossing around references to being "dead"
