Let Susan Boyle Be Susan Boyle

Hopefully, the new, singing superstar, Susan Boyle, will be able to keep, at least one foot, or, at minimum, a toe, or two, on the ground, while the rest of her continues to ascend into the clouds.

Perhaps her age, and her long journey to this fantastic, and fascinating, point, will be enough grounding, will have built a solid foundation, for Ms. Boyle to resist the gaggle of newcomers who are going to want to, perhaps stopping only at plastic surgery, "make her over", so as to package her and begin the marketing circus.

No doubt, this, and all these decisions, are going to come, ever-so rapidly, as the need to strike while the iron (or, in this case, the YouTube) is hot.

It may end up being the same, sensational voice, but the window dressing erected around, and on, her, could be just this side short of a Frederick Wiseman film.

Makeover debate fires up over 'Idol' sensation Susan Boyle

Once people stopped marveling at Susan Boyle's voice, they started talking about her look, including her caterpillar-like eyebrows. Let the makeover debate begin.

[Snip]

"I won't let Simon Cowell take her to his dentist, and I certainly won't let her near his hairdresser," " Britain's Got Talent" judge Amanda Holden told the UK Mirror.

The matronly 48-year-old "needs to stay exactly as she is because that's the reason we love her," said Holden, who happens to be a flaxen-haired beauty with a flawless complexion. "She just looks like anybody who could live on your street.
If we get to vote on it, the choice is simple;

"Let Susan Boyle Be Susan Boyle!"
