Ran Kan Kan

Well, we've been trying.

Still hovering on the edge of the DL, it seems we were overly optimistic, after Monday's PT, feeling so good, we worked hard on the homefront on Tuesday, and paid the price for it.

Today's PT session did not give us the relief and comfort we were expecting, so we took it easy for most of the day/evening.

And so much happening, like BP (Better Profits) using the Coast Guard to chase away reporters to chase away reporters, to the crowning, last night, of Son of Paul, in Kentucky, a glowing candle in the Tea Party's "Take Back Our Country" cake.

It seems that Rand Paul is very much against racism, and is is using his 1st Amendment Right to say that while he likes elements of the Civil Rights Act, it really should be left to locals as to who they serve in their business, that they have 1st Amendment Rights as well, and Government shouldn't come in and tell them how to run their business.

Look for this to be a blazing billboard in the days-and-weeks ahead, so much so, likely the Flying Monkeys, of both the Right Wing Freak Show, and the Teabaggers, will be crying like that nerd whimpering about "Leave Britney Alone"

It's a toss-up, if it will be Michelle "Stalkin" Malkin, or Andrew Breitbart who first wails out "Leave Rand Alone!".

Now, if Rand only wants to let Wheel of Fortune drop one letter, he could run with this as a theme song, to show his love of diversity.

Hit it El Rey!

A Stopped Clock

In our best tongue-in-cheek Gomer Pyle;

Surprise, Surprise!

From Crooks and Liars;

David Duke defends the Tea Parties from charges of racism: Why, they're just like him

Duke: Tea Party people are called racist because the vast majority wants to stop the massive non-European immigration that will turn America into a crumbling tower of Babel. Most Tea Partiers believe that we in America have the right to preserve our heritage, language, and culture, just as every nation has that human right. The vast majority of Tea Party activists oppose affirmative action and diversity, which are nothing more than programs of racist discrimination against white people. The vast majority of Tea Party enthusiasts despise Hollywood and the mass media

You know, the unelected media bosses have far more power than any senator or congressman, and are far more alien to America than the British were at the time of the American Revolution. At least the British were of our own, Christian cultural heritage, while the non-Christian ethno-religious minority who dominates Hollywood sees itself as very distinct from the 98 percent of the rest of us.

Tea Party activists are true populists who see the powers that control international finance and the Federal Reserve as the biggest threats to American prosperity and freedom.

...... The Tea Party movement is made up of American people who have watched in silent anger while the nation of our forefathers has been destroyed. The Tea Party movement, as the original Tea Party, is about preserving our heritage and our freedom.
Where's Orval Faubus when you really need him?

David Neiwert adds;
See, when David Duke whines that "pro white" organizations don't get treated the same as "pro black" organizations, he's ignoring a critical difference: "Pro black" organizations (think the NAACP) are all about lifting up people of their own color. "Pro white" organizations are all about tearing down people of other colors. That's why they call them "hate groups."

The Tea Partiers probably don't want Duke's endorsement. But he's basically right: The Tea Partiers argue from exactly the same kind of appeals that Duke and his fellow white nationalist have used for years, particularly the appeals to the "Founding Fathers" -- most of whom were, after all, white supremacists themselves.

Indeed, the Tea Party movement is nothing less than the manifestation of the agenda Duke has been pushing for years. We appreciate him pointing that out for public consumption.

And, Anomaly100, over on Freakout Nation reminds us;
Many years ago in New Orleans, Duke was running for political office. He explained away his past by saying, it was his past. He said he was no longer a racist. Now, he’s a lying racist.
I don't know ...

I feel a Sarah Palin Facebook Lame-Street-Media-Love-Hug-to-Duke post coming up ...

Well, It Is Oklahoma, After All

If this news was coming out of, just about, any other state, then, it would be worrisome;

Okla. tea parties and lawmakers envision militia

OKLAHOMA CITY – Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty.

Tea party movement leaders say they've discussed the idea with several supportive lawmakers and hope to get legislation next year to recognize a new volunteer force. They say the unit would not resemble militia groups that have been raided for allegedly plotting attacks on law enforcement officers.

[snip]

State Sen. Randy Brogdon, R-Owasso, a Republican candidate for governor who has appealed for tea party support, said supporters of a state militia have talked to him, and that he believes the citizen unit would be authorized under the Second Amendment to the Constitution.

It prompted Driftglass to issue a Flash!News!Alert!;
At this moment, somewhere in America, a drunk is abso-fucking-lutely sure that one more vodka-and-Red-Bull will solve all his problems.

It's one thing for the Teabaggers looking to build an army, but having a nitwit local legislator buying into their idiocracy ...

The always mirthful Will Bunch, at Attytood weigh in;
If it's scary, why are you doing this? What's alarming is that several lawmakers are on board with this proposal, although reading between lines it looks dubious it could actually pass the state legislature and become law, especially since -- and I'm not sure how this could have happened -- the governor of Oklahoma is a Democrat. Still, you never know what can happen when an idea gets rolling. It seems to me that if the citizens of Oklahoma think Washington is overextending its power, there are other solutions -- at the ballot box in 2010 and 2012, for example. Has Oklahoma City, of all places, forgotten what happened the last time somebody there stood up to claim he was not rolling over for the federal government?

As we alluded to above, deeply concerning, it were another state, other than Oklahoma.

See, Oklahoma was in the news, for profound dubious reasons, back in September of last year - which we took due notice of;

Yeeow! Ayipioeeay! ...You're Not Doin' Fine, Oklahoma!

Only one in four Oklahoma public high school students can name the first President of the United States, according to a survey released today.

The survey was commissioned by the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs in observance of Constitution Day on Thursday.

[snip]

"They're questions taken from the actual exam that you have to take to become a U.S. citizen," Dutcher said.

[snip]

About 92 percent of the people who take the citizenship test pass on their first try, according to immigration service data. However, Oklahoma students did not fare as well. Only about 3 percent of the students surveyed would have passed the citizenship test.

Something tells me, if it ever got to the point, where they would have to draft a bill for this, they are likely to run into some problems, maybe things like spelling, proper puncuation, who actually is the President ...

The PartyofNoicans are doomed.

They think they own the Teabaggers, but the Teabaggers hate them ...

Sarah Palin is playing both sides of the fence...

And the Teabaggers keep topping themselves, on how delusional, how out-of-touch that they are.

What a country!

Day Care? ... What Day Care?

We don't have to show you no Day Care! ... We don't have to show you no stinkin' Day Care! ...

Once you get past the U.S. News and Report's Washington Whispers on-line poll, that is sail past their sexism and misogyny, you realize what a dunder-headed farce it is.

Putting that up is as about as tone-deaf as the NY Post, and their editorial brilliance.

And, they simply don't see the handwritting on the wall.

It's clear now, that since Rick Santelli's foot-in-mouth rant, and all these burgeoning Tea Party's, the "Silent Majority" (since Obama's election, this can now be a substitute for "Right Wing Freak Show") is going to rise up and overthrow the government.

They will install Sarah Palin as the new Prez (Bobby Jindal finally gets the VP slot), and with a cabinet, and advisors, such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Michael Savage, O'Reilly (Michelle "Stalkin" Malkin lobbies for, and gets, the job of running the internment camps), they are going to turn off the Stimulus spigot, and everyone, excepting Wall Street Executives, Halliburton (and KBR), and all the former Bush Grindhouse cronies, will have to work (Xe will be in place to maintain the order).

That includes children.

There will be no Day Care ... It won't exist in the Silent Majority's world.

Why spend money on them? ... SCHIPS and Head Start will be abolished ... There will be no excuses - they work, just like eveyone else.

They can be taught to make baskets, or sacks, for those Wall Street guys to carry home their loot.

Or, Malkin can have them cleaning up the grounds of the Internment Camps.

The Asian and Mexican Human Rights campaigns, showing the new abusive U.S. policy of child labor, will fall on deaf ears, and put those places on the revived Axis of Evil List, with Richard Perle drawing up a new plan of preemptive attacks (though, this will still be unclear to, and not explainable by, President Palin).

Sounds far-fetched, heh?

Well, then read Frank Rich today.
