Talk Fight At The FISA Corral ... And While That Goes On, Eye and Hearing Tests For All

"A date which will live in infamy".

Yeah, that was FDR's line, after the attack at Pearl Harbor, but it could take a secondary spot in posterity, depending on how effective Senator Chris Dodd's heroic filibuster goes today, in his almost singular effort to stop the Bush Grindhouse - and their Democratic collaborators - from granting amnesty to the Telcoms who aided the illegal wiretapping.

It's pretty stunning that the Congress, and, for that matter, the American public, isn't red-faced with rage over this.

Give'em What They Want Harry Reid, allegedly the Democratic Leader of the Senate, is placing on the floor the bill that will give the Bush Grindhouse, and Telcoms what they want - this over another bill that does not.

Has Reid been lunching with, and/or, drinking from Joe Lieberman's cup?

Multitasking: Filibuster and Healthcare

Perhaps, while Senator Dodd is engaged in his filibuster, the rest of Congress can, in shifts, do something very practical, and, by all accounts, something very much needed.

Get themselves eyesight and hearing tests.

They, supposedly, have tremendous healthcare coverage, so that shouldn't be in issue.

Heck, they have pull, so they could probably get one of the big trailers to come and park in front of Capital, or find an empty office the docs can set up in for this.

Why eyesight and hearing tests?

Well, it seems an overwhelming number of people in the country (and probably just as many outside the country) have seen and heard that The Commander Guy, and his Grindhouse cronies, illegally wiretapped American citizens - clearly in violation of the FISA Act - and, in the process, numerous telecommunication companies carried out the work for this illegal wiretapping (one didn't - Qwest).

Seemingly, not included in all these people who have seen and heard about this illegal wiretapping are the elected members of Congress, who, as part of their duties, is to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

Now, many of these elected members of Congress (and, certainly, not all) are intelligent people.

So, if they can not reasonably, and cognitively, understand that this illegal wiretapping has gone on, it must be something medical, like eyesight and hearing (particularly the older congressman).

And it has been crystal clear that we have been attacked by enemies, foreign (Sept 11th) and also domestic (The Bush Grindhouse and their obtuse dismissal of the U.S. Constitution).

So, please, staff members, loved ones, urge and demand that your congressmen and senators go get these eyesight and hearing tests immediately.

The fate of the nation rides on it.

Developing Story! A Livid Cheney Moves To Place Chertoff Guts Under Wraps

Future Intestinal Prognostications To Be Kept Secret; Brings In Former U.N Ambassador For Extra Tongue Lashing

Against the backdrop of a report shedding light of Vice President Dick Cheney's Energy Task Force, as well as new intelligence reports regarding Al Qaeda readying to attack the United States again, as well as a new, extraordinary move by the Bush Grindhouse in claims of Executive Privilege, an incident has come to light, over national security, involving Cheney, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton.

In yet another example of the unprecedented and extraordinary secrecy the Bush Grindhouse has conducted the nation's affairs, sources tell The Garlic that Cheney is citing, since gases are formed in a person's "gut", re Chertoff's "gut feelings", and gases being a form of energy, this would fall under Cheney's Energy Task Force and any information from it would be classified and unavailable for any overview.

Last week, before the Homeland Security Secretary gave his now infamous interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, that he was repeatedly badgered and harassed by the Vice President's office.

There was a rumor circulating on the Hill that Chertoff was merely suffering from indegestion, that he had a upset stomach, but that Cheney, along with his Chief of Staff David Addington, made repeated visits to Chertoff, seeking more and more information from Chertoff's gut.

Sources tell The Garlic that, on a subsequent visit by Cheney and Addington, former Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton was accompanying the pair and, after entering Chertoff's office, Bolton could be heard, very loudly, screaming, yelling and berating Chertoff.

The White refused to comment on the story, indicating that they would invoke Executive Privilege regarding their refusal to comment, but did issue a statement that they are not anticipating exposing any covert CIA agents over the Chertoff Gut matter.

We quoted from "Send In The Clowns", a Stephen Sondheim tune from "A Little Night Music". This writer always disliked - intensely - this song, done by many, many big-time artists until ... Until it was heard by the incredible - and our all-time favorite - male jazz vocalist, Mr. Bill Henderson, who, by far, offers the definitive rendition of this song.

It's Tuesday And It's Still A Cheneypalooza! ... ' A Strong Push From Backstage'

Whew ... So much to wade through today ...

The Tabloid Princess was sprung... Thanks to Chris Matthews, the Coltergeist was on the loose... The CIA is shooting for a 30+year mea culpa and Tony Blair has accepted becoming a gloried bike messenger ...

But shining through and above all this is our Cheneypalooza ... And the new series, started Sunday, by the Washington Post, "Angler - The Cheney Vice Presidency"

Over the next four days, The Washington Post will present an in-depth investigation of the vice presidency of Dick Cheney, the most influential and powerful man ever to hold the office. The stories will examine Cheney's largely hidden and little-understood role in crafting policies for the War on Terror, the economy and the environment.
Today's Installment: A Strong Push From Backstage
With A Bonus: Expanding Authority for No. 2 Spot

It's hard to say, and we'll likely never find out, if the Darth Vader man is upset his super-secret-decoder-ring world is being exposed, or if he's getting a woody, seeing his governmental prowess on display, verifying the, up-to-now, long-running joke, on who was really the President in Bush Grindhouse.

It's Monday, And The Cheneypalooza Is Rolling On! ... ' Pushing the Envelope on Presidential Power'

Lots going on today ... Earthquake at 30 Rock, as news anchor Brian Williams takes a big tumble... Michelle Maudlin, and others in the Freak Show, are stirring up trouble (but nothing that can't be handled by a cutting, on-the-money post by Larisa Alexandrovna) ... And CNN flunks geography

Take all that in but don't let our Cheneypalooza pass you by ... Or the new series, started yesterday, by the Washington Post, "Angler - The Cheney Vice Presidency"

The stories will examine Cheney's largely hidden and little-understood role in crafting policies for the War on Terror, the economy and the environment.
(Considering all of Cheney's underhandedness in building an Imperial Presidency, it is rather fitting that his Secret Service code name is/was "Angler")

More Cheneypalooza! 'A Different Understanding With the President'

You can go off and watch Larry King fawn all over Paris Hilton, but the fun and festivities continue with our Cheneypalooza, as the Washington Post begins a series today, "Angler - The Cheney Vice Presidency"

It appears that contretemps of the Darth Vader man are far from their final throes.

Red Rover, Red Rover, Send Dickie Right Over ... Its' A Cheneypalooza!

One question I have this morning is where's Rumsfeld?

If he isn't leading a coup, or just bustin' everyone's balls, than it may be that our Vice President is showing overt signs of dementia setting in ... Senility or Alzheimer's, perhaps ... Could also be his notoriously bad heart (both literally and figuratively)

It may be that the days of the week are confusing him, and he thinks he's on one of his weekend Armageddon retreats.

How else to explain that he believes he is not part of the Executive Branch?

Long Past The Shock of Illegal, Law-Breaking Misdeeds

Who knew, last month, when The Garlic called for volunteers to become a "Cheney's Cheney" and join his team for the Iran venture that we'd see that the Darth Vader Man was already well ahead of the curve on it.

The Garlic also saw signs last November, when Cheney broke from the White House to form his own Iran Study Group.

And The Garlic had a feeling, earlier, back in November 2005, that Dick was quite the Magic Vice Prez.

He has his lavish Secret Bunker... The family, in particular the wife, is with him all the way ... He'll dress-down, and swear at, a Senator, or turn around and expose a covert CIA agent at the drop-of-the-hat ... And he shares with his boss/underling, The Commander Guy, a disdain for democracy ...

He's already long past the shock of conducting his illegal, law-breaking misdeeds, that there hasn't been any blaring sirens coming for him ... No scoldings, no detention, so he's looking around, his head spinning like Linda Blair's, and sees no one after him, so it's time to push that secret envelope out more, and more.

We should expect some type of fiat next from the VP Man, perhaps suspending the 2008 election, removing Bush, keeping the surge he sings praises for and, of course, leaving all Iran options on table - particularly the bombing ones.

Which Way Does It Go - Over The Cliff or Top of The World?

He doesn't give a shit about nose-diving ratings, he's got his hands on the wheel, his fingers on the buttons ... And he's going for broke ...

A Thelma and Louise, pedal-to-the-medal drive off the Constitutional cliff? ... A Cody Jarrett, Top-of-the-World-Ma scream, standing on a blazing and exploding Iranian nuclear reactor? ... Or a more fitting, Sam Peckinpah-inspired, Pike Bishop shoot out with Congress?

For me, I'd like to see, with a nice, lush, Bernard Hermann score, Cheney, sweating and panicked, on top of Mt. Rushmore, holding a trinket containing all the secret Energy Meeting Notes, and Secret Service Visitor Logs, being chased and hunted by Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson (hey, lay off, it's pretty close casting) and the good guys end up winning.

The only thing of it is, whose definition of good and evil do we go by?
