Wrong Battle, Nitwits!

This is been said by many over the past few days, and, I'm confident there are thousand-and-thousand of scores of people out there that understand it as well.

Gods' Rebel Kim Davis is not in jail over her "Religious Freedom".

Religous Freedom is not under attack here.

No one is telling her she can't believe in what she believes ... No one is telling her what to believe in ... No one is forcing their "Religious Beliefs" on her.

If any of us, in whatever jobs we held, whatever beliefs we had, took the similar action (being, refusing to do our job, the job we accepted) we would surely be reprimanded, or disciplined, perhaps suspended or, even terminated.

She has a particular job that carrys with it certain tasks, duties and policies.

She chose - refused - to perform those tasks and duties, and the consequences she faces now are of her own doing, no one else.

What happened to the monolithic Conservative principle of "Personal Responsiblity"?

The Rowan County Board, or Supervisors, whoever oversees the employees of Rown County have some explaining to do ...

What happens if others in civic and/or government jobs took the same action as God's Rebel?
Does a fireman's "Religious Beliefs" allow him/her to stand there and watch a gay couple's (or pick the target of your "Religious Beliefs") house to burn down?
Does a policeman's "Religious Beliefs" allow him to stand by and watch a group of thugs beat up a gay couple?

The more rational out there need to prevent the Religious Conservatives, the Jesus Freaks, and the PartyofNoicans from hijacking this incident into making it a Cause it is not.

God's Rebel Kim Davis is in jail because she chose to defy a Court Order pertaining to her performing her tasks and duties.

That's what this is about.

No one is telling God's Rebel she can't believe in what she believes ... No one is telling her what to believe in ... No one is forcing God's Rebel their "Religious Beliefs" on her.

She chose not to perform her job, as she accepted when she was elected, and, following a court order to do so.

Let's turn the page on this quickly, before it gets to the point we have to call out:

Like Fish In A Barrel

Why, oh why ...

I mean, this is just like sitting on a fastball, or, an uncontested lay-up.

I mean, why bring the attention on yourself?

He could have just stayed on his side of the street, cater to his own idiocy, jumped behind the Teabaggers and he'd live for, maybe two, or three, of the primary races, since his insolent ego is telling him that he should be the new President in 2012.

Santorum Talks About Longtime Google Problem

Rick Santorum has a Google problem.

The former Pennsylvania Senator might be well-known on Capitol Hill, but his name more regularly produces blank stares in places like Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, if recent polling is any guide. The likely Republican presidential candidate knows he needs to expand his name identification.

Santorum can only hope voters don’t turn to Google, the world’s most popular Internet search engine, to learn more about him.

Try it for yourself: Enter “Rick Santorum” into Google. In a fraction of a second you’ll have hundreds of thousands of results. But two of the top four cite a graphic definition for a sexual neologism. In this case, the neologism is a reference to anal sex.

It goes with the territory that Santorum accepts no responsibility to this, despite his homophobic rantings a few years ago, about equating acceptance of the Gay Marriage Act was just opening the door to "man-on-dog" sex.

He even whines in the article that, gosh darn it, people aren't following President Obama's call for more civility in the politic body.

Jack Stuef, over on Wonkette, spanks him on this;

But Rick Santorum also heard President Obama say something about “civility” when that woman who actually has a job in politics got shot, so he thinks President Obama should deliver a speech talking about how he’s not a byproduct of anal sex and sternly tell the Google to stop being so mean to him. This is how things are supposed to go in the age of civility, according to Santorum. Never mind that this happened because he was being uncivil to gays and nobody is standing up for civility for him right now because everyone forgot about him and being mean to him on the Internet years ago.

So, once we move past the ass, both the Google Search results, and the being that Rick Santorum is, TBogg, over on Firedoglake slaps him down (and again, we reference our early opening lines above, he just makes this too easy);

When Rick Santorum lost to Bob Casey in 2006 (by a 59-41 margin), Rick saw it as God closing a door but opening a window for him to run for President. The rest of us saw it as God closing a door, barring the windows and setting the house on fire so he didn’t have to listen to that sanctimonious freak invoking His name all of the time in public.

[snip]

Seriously. Santorum wasn’t crushed by eighteen points because of Google searches; he lost because he’s a douche. Dan Savage’s Google bomb was just the frothing on the cake.

Sigh ...

Like fish in a barrel ...

Quick, Someome Call The Lifetime Channel!

Is this a made-for-television movie, or what?

Mayor quits job for gay illegal immigrant he loves

Only two weeks after being elected to serve his fourth term, Mayor J.W. Lown of San Angelo submitted his resignation letter Tuesday from an undisclosed location in Mexico.

[snip]

Lown told the San Angelo Standard-Times he had fallen for the man in March, after he had already filed for re-election. The man came to the U.S. five years ago to study at Angelo State University.

It was unclear whether he had a student visa, but if he did it apparently had expired.

Lown told the Standard-Times he chose not to take the oath of office while “aiding and assisting” a person who was illegally in the country.

Lown had been an extraordinarily popular mayor. Only 32 years old, he was elected in 2003 as the city’s youngest mayor. Serving in an office that inevitably requires decisions that accumulate enemies, he managed to get re-elected three times with increasing margins of victory each time. Two weeks ago he defeated two challengers by garnering 89 percent of the vote.

Lown did not give the name of his lover, but said he planned to stay in Mexico to try to obtain a visa so that his partner can return with him if “the people of San Angelo will welcome me back.”
Holy Cow!

Talk about hitting the jackpot!

Love, sex, politics, hot topic issue of Illegal Immigration, against the backdrop of a small, dusty town.

Think Last Picture Show meets Will and Grace (like Eric McCormick isn't going to play this love-stricken mayor?)

And, can't you just see this playing, on Lifetime, perhaps the "E" Channel, maybe even a HBO big bang (no pun intended) mini-series?

Of course, there'll have to be a cameo by Lou Dobbs, or Pat Buchanan, deep into a foaming-mouth rant against illegal immigration, now corrupting our politics, surely leading to, in a matter of days, or weeks, the country turning Communist

I smell September Sweeps ...
