Just when you think he is gone ...
The Man-Who-Likes-To-Out-Covert-Agents, the former half of "Errors and No Facts", the curmudgeon for whom real curmudgeons would (should) protest that is insulting to them, is totally unrepentant.
And that he would do the same thing over again, because, ruining Valerie Plame's career, throwing a gigantic wrench into a covert government program, monitoring and attempting to stop nuclear proliferation, even, possibly, putting Plame, her family, and other covert agents lives in danger, well, that just gets the back of his hand.
And just whose dung-under-the fingernails hand are we talking about.
Robert Novak!
In an interview the other day, with The National Ledger, No Facts had this to say;Q: Let's talk about the Valerie Plame affair, which caused you so much grief. If you had it to do over again, would you reveal who she was?
Here's a guy, priming with so much confidence, so much character and integrity, that he has to qualify "A lot of people love me ..." with an "or like me".
A: If you read my book, you find a certain ambivalence there. Journalistically, I thought it was an important story because it explained why the CIA would send Joe Wilson -- a former Clinton White House aide with no track record in intelligence and no experience in Niger -- on a fact-finding mission to Africa. From a personal point of view, I said in the book I probably should have ignored what I'd been told about Mrs. Wilson.
Now I'm much less ambivalent. I'd go full speed ahead because of the hateful and beastly way in which my left-wing critics in the press and Congress tried to make a political affair out of it and tried to ruin me. My response now is this: The hell with you. They didn't ruin me. I have my faith, my family, and a good life. A lot of people love me -- or like me. So they failed. I would do the same thing over again because I don't think I hurt Valerie Plame whatsoever.
Q: You saw up close what it's like to be the subject of so many news stories. Has this changed the way you view the journalistic profession?
A: I thought the journalistic community was terrible to me -- even members of the Gridiron Club, which is supposed to be a band of brothers and sisters. I thought one of the worst columns written on the Plame affair was by William Safire. He wrote a stupid column saying I should reveal the name of my source. He wanted to get his colleague at The New York Times, Judy Miller, off the hook with the prosecutors. He didn't know, as I knew, that my source, Richard Armitage, had long before identified himself to the FBI and the Justice Department. But my attorneys advised me to keep silent about the whole affair.
Not to mention how far up his ass his head is.
"I would do the same thing over again", due to abject horror directed at him, for being a lackey to a bunch of nitwit cronies, and outing a real, live covert agent, merely for political gamesmanship, retribution against a critic.
To bad they didn't ask him about hitting-and-running that homeless person earlier this year.
He was criticized for that as well, so, by his own beliefs, would he answer "To hell with you ... I would do the same thing over again because I don't think I hurt that homeless person whatsoever..."
Heads up you downtrodden men and woman of the D.C area ...

God Bless Orrin Hatch ... Defending The Bush FISA, and Telcom Amnesty, He Indicts The Bush Grindhouse
Watching the FISA debate on C-Span 2, and Senator Chris Dodd's filibuster, Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), in growing passion, and increasing fearmongering, is defending the Bush Grindhouse in their practice of illegal wiretapping, and their call for immunity for the Telcom accomplices.
In his rambling, Hatch, citing the danger of lawsuits from citizens who have been illegally wiretapped, that it would put our national security in jeopardy, that it would expose classified information, offered this gem, something that fits like a glove to the Bush Cronies;"There are people in this country who just love to expose classified information, regardless of who it harms ..."
Sound like, if they win their appeal, the Wilson's will have to subpoena Senator Hatch, to see what he knows about who loved to expose Valerie Plame, former covert CIA agent.
Heck, there's probably some tapes sitting in the NSA (unless they've adopted the CIA practice of destroying them) on it ...
Ahh, such irony.

All I Want For Christmas Is My Presidential Pardon
It would appear the I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby is placing his chips on "Presidential Pardon", with the news today that, despite continuing to claim his innocence, he is ending the appeal of his trial, leaving him, for the time being, a convicted felon.
In all likelihood, that was the deal from the beginning, but, considering the mental capacity of The Decider Guy, does he even remember The Scooter Guy?
Especially after, earlier this summer, he offered "I'm aware of the fact that perhaps somebody in the administration did disclose the name of that person ..."
Did Cheney have those CIA guys erase his memory as well?
Does Scooter get his Christmas stocking stuffed with a Presidential Pardon?
Is this Scooter's powerplay, to force the hand that will sign the pardon?
With the blizzard of new scandals that whacked the Bush Grindhouse in the past week - take your pick; A) the still-growing CIA Videotape erasure, B) The Iran NIE Report C) Sheldon Whitehouse's yeoman work in exposing the self-appointed rulings, declaring The Decider Guy, well, the real Decider Guy, as whatever he says is the law, is the law - is The Scooter getting nervous that something could happen - yes, the "I" word - comes down, before January 20th, 2009, killing off his going-out-the-door pardon?
Is this pressure from Darth Vader, that, perhaps, the device inside his chest is in it's last throes and he wants to see his little Robin (Ehhh, scratch that - the thought of Cheney and Libby in tights ... Nasty), free-and-clear while he's still ticking?
This oughta' put a few talking heads to work over the next few weeks.
Everybody can synchronize their watches, for the Libby Pardon Clock is, officially, set today.
Mary Matalin must be busy, drafting up those new fundraising letters, and urging all those Friends of Scooter, to start badgering The Decider Guy to make the only decision they know in their hearts should be made - Pardon our Little Scooter!
And, for all of you waiting to hear The Scooter, or The Bush Grindhouse, spill their guts, now that the appeal process is over, think again.
There's still the matter of Valerie Plame's possible lawsuit and, no doubt, they will continue to clam-up, citing that "litigation", if the Wilson's can revive their case, after it was thrown out last summer.
Still, it would make for entertaining viewing, to see a subpoenaed Scooter, sitting in front a Congressional Committee, displaying his deep dedication to public service, by taking the 5th, over-and-over. A veritable civics lesson for the cable news and C-Span viewers.
Scooter must be banking on that The Commander Guy has a Santa suit hanging in the closet, perhaps, right next to his Mission Accomplished" flightsuit.
Valerie Plame, covert CIA agent exposed, to punish her Iraq War-critical, Op-Ed-writing husband, and no one goes to jail for treason?
Sounds like another Bush Grindhouse "Mission Accomplished" to me.

Surprise, Surprise! ... Rove Blames - Can You Guess - The Democrats!
In the eerie, suspenseful Charles Laughton classic, "The Night of the Hunter", Robert Mitchum (yes, playing the bad guy), has tattooed on his knuckles the words "Love" and "Hate".
Has anyone checked Karl Rove's paws?
If he was to be emulating Mitchum, undoubtedly, he would have "Hate" and "Hate" on his.
The Turd Blossom has stuck his bloated cranium out today, penning the Sunday morning news show talking points, err, excuse me, an Op-Ed in Ruppert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal today, under the banner of "Opposite of Progress";
A Failure to Lead; The Democratic Congress is more interested in acting out than in taking positive action.
Hmmm ... Seems like that title "A Failure to Lead" could be applied, more aptly, to his former boss.
And, let's take another wild guess here, that this leaker of Valerie Plame will be all over Fox News today, dishing out the caveats of his diatribe like happy soup.
It's a rambling laundry list that everything, and I mean everything, that is wrong in our country today, the blame lies at the feet of the Democratic-controlled Congress.
And, boy, is he still pissed that his "New Math" failed so miserably in last years' Mid-Term elections;"The Democratic victory in 2006 was narrow. They won the House by 85,961 votes out of over 80 million cast and the Senate by a mere 3,562 out of over 62 million cast. A party that wins control by that narrow margin can quickly see its fortunes reversed when it fails to act responsibly, fails to fulfill its promises, and fails to lead."
Hey, Turd Blossom, you lost, get over it.
But that's a pretty good epitaph you have there - for the Republicans;
" ... Quickly see its fortunes reversed when it fails to act responsibly, fails to fulfill its promises, and fails to lead ..."
And, your former boss, partly due to your advice and counsel, partly due to your warped, partisan policies, will be going down in history, in infamy, as the worst U.S. President ever.
Only, Turd Blossom, if you were to write an Op-Ed of The Commander Guy, you'd have to fly it under a banner titled "Opposite of Competent".

Jeff Gannon Speaks! ... To The Garlic!
A minor occurance on The Garlic this week.
Monday started in quite typical fashion. Fired up the computer, pulled up The Garlic and, lo-and-behold, there was a comment in our "Wag The FEMA" post... A big, shiny comment ...
And it was from Jeff Gannon!
Could it be the same, softball-throwing Jeff Gannon? The fake-reporter-working-for-a-fake-news-organization Jeff Gannon?
It quickly passed through my mind, that, no, it couldn't be. It had to be a fake Jeff Gannon, and that quickly turned into thinking who would want to be a fake Jeff Gannon?
Would they be longing, or plotting, to get into the White House Press Briefing Room and feed pablum to the Press Secretary (though, the current one, Dana Perino, certainly has shown she doesn't need a plant in the audience, she does fine creating her own)? Was this fake Jeff Gannon also a hot military stud? Was this fake Jeff Gannon sitting there, day-after-day, hoping against all hope, that another covert, CIA agent would be outed, so fake Jeff Gannon could play a role in exposing their name?
Would the fake Jeff Gannon be calling themselves by a name different from their given one?
That one made me think of the Steven Wright joke, about making instant coffee in the microwave oven.
I suppose, a fake Jeff Gannon (and using a fake, fake name), could, possibly, find some work, in one of those celebrity look-alike agencies.
But that gave way to wondering if the real Jeff Gannon was a celebrity.
Infamy, certainly, the 15-minutes-of-fame thing ... But does that 15-minutes in the spotlight automatically give you the title of "celebrity"?
I checked The Google, to see if I could find any requirement, standards that had to be met in order to call yourself a celebrity (and not a fake celebrity, the kind that would work for a look-alike agency).
Didn't find anything. Anybody can call themselves a celebrity, though, it's not clear that anyone else would call you one. You could probably count on some friends and family, but that's not a given.
I mean, let's be real here.
If it only takes 15-minutes to become a celebrity, Christ, the place would be crawling with them.
There'd be all kinds of celebrity news shows ... Reality shows ... Game shows ... Probably sports and dancing shows ...
Wait a minute ... Scratch that ...
I got back to the comment ... The Jeff Gannon comment
You can read the comment, in full, here.
Just the heading, right under "Jeff Gannon Says" was a give-away that a compliment was not going to be forthcoming;
"Old Media Ablaze Over Staged FEMA Presser"
And then the first five words - "Liberal activists and the Old Media"
Hmmm ... Using "Old Media twice in the opening ... Made a quick mental note to imprint that the words "Old Media" sits in the Rightwing code book. Mr. Gannon then recounts the fake FEMA press conference, accurately (no, he doesn't indicate that he dreamed, wistfully, of being able to sit in that one) and, in the second paragraph of the comment, offers a scenario that excuses FEMA for pulling a fast one (Hint - blame the Liberals and Old Media).
Third paragraph infers wrong impressions were put forward - again, by the Old Media - on Hurricane Katrina (Hmmm .. Cameras focused on thousands of people at the Morial Convention Center without any food or water, for days, was an incorrect impression) and that he learned a big enough lesson ... And then it comes, right there in the third paragraph;"In my book, “The Great Media War: A Battlefield Report”, I detail the flawed coverage of one of the greatest natural disasters in American history – a record that has yet to be corrected."
He's hawking a book
Fourth and fifth paragraphs are Gannon defending himself against the "phony reporter" charges, pointing to "Liberal media activist Keith Olbermann noted it on his nightly train wreck of a talk show and the lefties of the blogosphere dutifully repeated it ad nauseum." I was as real as a reporter gets, writing over 500 articles as a White House correspondent, a job that Secret Service records indicate I actually showed up for more than 200 times over the course of two years. The veracity of my work as a reporter has never been successfully challenged."
He then, in the last paragraph, burnished his credentials, indicating he is a member of the National Press Club and that "My book about the media will be featured at the National Press Club’s 30th annual book fair on November 1."
He ends the comment with "Not bad for a “fake, fraud and phony.”
Well, it has been said that "showing up" is about 80% of it.
And he certainly isn't the first, nor will be the last, "fake, fraud and phony" to publish a book.
This comment intrigued me.
The links in it leads back to JeffGannon.com and there, it is descried that the comment was simply a copy-and-paste of a post, dated October 29, 2007.
How disappointing
Here I am, sitting here with my little The Garlic blog, thinking I've gotten whacked by a possible celebrity (see above) and it's was only a cut-and-paste job. No freshly-written prose ... I was just lumped into a mass mailing, probably, a spam comment (Note: After writing this, I discovered it was - see "Was Jeff Gannon a “Fake White House Reporter”?, over on The Democratic Daily)
Some Rightwing fan (possible that fake Jeff Gannon), defending the legendary fake reporter, scanning and jumping through the World Wide Web, parrying back at all the "Old Media" and "Liberal Activists".
So, to satisfy my curiosity, I emailed Jeff Gannon, through his website, asking "to verify comments left on my blog, The Garlic: All The Cloves Fit To Peel, were left by you, and/or you authorized a third party to submit the comment", noting that "it is unsigned (with no link back to an individual email), it is a copy of a post on your website, and with links to your new book."
Well, as Gomer Pyle used to say, "Surprise, Surprise"
Just over two-hours later, I received a reply - from Jeff Gannon - confirming that the comment left of The Garlic was with his "knowledge and permission." (Okay conspiracy theorists, get to work, he didn't actually say he posted it; Could, possibly, be that fake Jeff Gannon person). And he was quite cordial, thanking me for checking the source.
And I did call the National Press Club, who verified (over the telephone) that, yes, Jeff Gannon was a member and, yes, his book is being featured in the book fair
So, I have read and reread the comment a good number of times, and I have to admit, that I do agree with Mr. Gannon, that he isn't, and wasn't a "phony reporter".
He was a shill ... A Republican shill ... A Hack ... An RNC, Talking-Points Hack ... A Hatchet Man ... Part of the Sludge Report, Freakshow crowd, or, at least, attempting to earn his way into it (He would have to admit the irony of being gay and Republican doesn't open a lot of doors in Red America; Let's wait and see how many Faux News Network programs he gets on with his new book, though, to be fair, if it offers taking a swipe at Hillary/The Democrats/Liberals/Daily Kos/Media Matters, Fox would put John Wayne Gacy in front of the cameras).
Dwarfs, Finks, Phonies and Frauds, the lot of them.
Whether my writing is good enough, my satire witty enough, that is for others to decide.
Having Gannon comment on The Garlic (and, as of this week, STOPTHEACLU is picking on us), I can find solace in the fact that I've done, at minimum, my 80%.

Left Off Medal of Freedom Recipient List, Libby Said To Be "Crushed"
Cheney Said To Be Furious, Threatens To Expose Shadow Presidency If Pardon Doesn't Come Through
Sources tell The Garlic this morning that there are new, hostile divisions deep inside the White House.
I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, commuted from his felony conviction in the Plame Leak Case, was said to be "despondent and crushed" after seeing the list of Medal of Freedom recipients released by the President yesterday.
Libby, according to a West Wing staffer, called Vice President Dick Cheney, and in tears, expressed his disappointment to his former boss, of not being awarded one.
Cheney was said to be furious, reacting angrily and threatened to expose the Shadow Presidency he has been conducting.
Cheney reportedly called the President, "barking at him" and demanded to know, if Libby was not receiving a Medal of Freedom award, when was his pardon coming through.
"We were sure Scooter was going to get one." whined Mary Matalin (Editor's Note: Whining is Ms. Matalins' natural way of speaking), a Libby friend and former colleague, as well as one of the chief fundraisers for Libby's defense.
"I mean, he gave one to Tenet, for God sakes!"
When asked for comment, White House Press Secretary Dana Perino indicated she didn't know anything about the Medal of Freedom awards, or how the list was developed.
"However," she added, "I believe that there are certain health benefits to not receiving one."
Libby is, reportedly, in talks with the Fox News Network as to developing a new show, tentatively titled "Are You Smarter Than a Convicted, But Commuted, Former White House Official?"

"I'm aware of the fact that perhaps somebody in the administration did disclose the name of that person ..."
This may have to become a new, reoccurring feature
No shit, Dick Tracy!
It was Iraqi Iraqi Mid-Term Progress Report Day (Report Card Day comes in September), and, most likely, both the Bush Grindhouse and the Iraqi Government (well, whatever they are; Perhaps, if you have seen the movie 'Le Roi de Coeur' - King of Hearts - we can understand how the Iraqis modeled their parliament) were burning the phone lines, to get their stories straight.
It sure seems like the policy is "Well keep standing up, while they sit down".
In his press conference this morning, to crow about the possible, and slightly below 50%, positive marks, The Decider/The Commander/The Shakespeare Guy, answering the one and only question about his Quid Pro Quo bailing out of convicted felon, former Advisor to the President and Vice President Chief of Staff, I. Lewis 'Scooter" Libby, engaged in this startling response;Q If I could just switch subjects for a second to another big decision you made recently, which was in the Scooter Libby case.
Quick, someone call the Webster Dictionary folks, and have them insert Bush's picture under the words;
THE PRESIDENT: Yes.
Q You spoke very soberly and seriously in your statement about how you weighed different legal questions in coming to your decision on that commutation. But one issue that you did not address was the issue of the morality of your most senior advisors leaking the name of a confidential intelligence operator. Now that the case is over -- it's not something you've ever spoken to -- can you say whether you're at all disappointed in the behavior of those senior advisors? And have you communicated that disappointment to them in any way?
THE PRESIDENT: Michael, I -- first of all, the Scooter Libby decision was, I thought, a fair and balanced decision. Secondly, I haven't spent a lot of time talking about the testimony that people throughout my administration were forced to give as a result of the special prosecutor. I didn't ask them during the time and I haven't asked them since.
I'm aware of the fact that perhaps somebody in the administration did disclose the name of that person, and I've often thought about what would have happened had that person come forth and said, I did it. Would we have had this, you know, endless hours of investigation and a lot of money being spent on this matter? But it's been a tough issue for a lot of people in the White House, and it's run its course and now we're going to move on.
Clueless
In Denial
Head Up One's AssSecondly, I haven't spent a lot of time talking about the testimony that people throughout my administration were forced to give as a result of the special prosecutor. I didn't ask them during the time and I haven't asked them since.
What the hell is this?
Is he inferring that Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, somehow, in some way, coerced the testimony and statements implicating Cheney and Rove, and possible, himself?
Was he confusing Fitzgerald's method of conducting a lawful and legal investigation, following established U.S. laws and procedures, with the methods he has approved for interrogating prisoners at Gitmo and Abu Ghraib?
Does he believe that the "people throughout my administration" were tortured by Fitzgerald, therefore, the testimony they offered is unreliable and not to be believed?" ... that perhaps somebody in the administration did disclose the name of that person ..."
Again, this in not some inanimate object.
We pointed out before that there was a real victim, a real person, that suffered terrible consequences as a result of "somebody in the administration did disclose the name of that person ..."
"That person" is Valerie Plame, now former, covert CIA Agent, exposed, thanks to Bush, Cheney, Libby and Rove.
The persons that leaked her name, exposed her, blowing her covert cover include;
- Dick Cheney
- Scooter Libby
- Karl Rove
- Ari Fleischer
- Ricard Armitage
- Robert Novak
- Matthew Cooper
- Judy Miller
You'll be getting us thinking. Talk like this will have us adding, derisively, "Sherlock Holmes Guy" to you and your self-produced moniker list.

Minced Garlic - New Keith Olbermann Special Comment: Bush, Cheney should resign
That's how Keith Olbermann kicked off another sterling Special Comment, "Olbermann: Bush, Cheney should resign", this evening.
“I didn’t vote for him,” an American once said, “But he’s my president, and I hope he does a good job.”
The man who said those 17 words—improbably enough—was the actor John Wayne
Although, about half the country, back in 2000, wouldn't have come close to uttering The Duke's optimistic lament. And I don't think, as conservative as Wayne was, that he would have been hip to Bush & Cronies, LLP (Losers, Liers and Perjurers) stealing the election.
From that moment, we haven't seen such a speeding, downward crash since ABC Wide World of Sports last aired, and that poor ski jumper, Vinko Bogataj, who tumbled off the ramp week, after week.
Stealing the election was just the opening chip. There were bigger stakes to play for and the Bush Grindhouse, as we have now seen, stacked the deck, the big pots going to their no-bid friends, or the Pat Robertson college grads wearing the same color arm band.
Olbermann rattled off, gattling gun-style, a list of indictments against The Commutator Guy and Darth Vader, beginning with;"I accuse you, Mr. Bush, of lying this country into war."
And ending with;“And I accuse you now, Mr. Bush, of giving, through that Vice President, carte blanche to Mr. Libby, to help defame Ambassador Joseph Wilson by any means necessary, to lie to Grand Juries and Special Counsel and before a court, in order to protect the mechanisms and particulars of that defamation, with your guarantee that Libby would never see prison, and, in so doing, as Ambassador Wilson himself phrased it here last night, of becoming an accessory to the obstruction of justice
Something the right-wing dwarfs, finks, phonies and frauds conveniently forget, when they clamor and froth that "there was no underlying crime" and "Libby wasn't the first to leak her name". And, of course, the throughly debunked squeaking that "she wasn't even undercover".
They forget that there was a victim in the felonies Libby was convicted of.
Her name is Valerie Plame.
She lost her job, her livelihood, which, ironically, was investigating and thwarting the very thing that The Commander Guy lied about in getting us mired in Iraq - Weapons of Mass Destruction.
And, in yet, an unending display of balls, The Commander Guy made a joke out of it.
So while The Decider Guy was mouthing off the now-famous 16-words, and Cheney was getting sucked-off by Tim Russert, boasting of Iraqi's role in Sept. 11th, and Condi was orgasming about mushroom clouds, this same crew was plotting the destruction of one of their government colleagues for the purpose of not being outed as liars.
Olbermann wrapped up with the most wishful, optimistic hope since an 8-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon wrote a letter to Santa Claus.“It is nearly July 4th, Mr. Bush, the commemoration of the moment we Americans decided that rather than live under a King who made up the laws, or erased them, or ignored them—or commuted the sentences of those rightly convicted under them—we would force our independence, and regain our sacred freedoms.
Who would of thunk it - That Nixon would actually have someone beneath him on the Worst President list.
We of this time—and our leaders in Congress, of both parties—must now live up to those standards which echo through our history: Pressure, negotiate, impeach—get you, Mr. Bush, and Mr. Cheney, two men who are now perilous to our Democracy, away from its helm.
For you, Mr. Bush, and for Mr. Cheney, there is a lesser task. You need merely achieve a very low threshold indeed. Display just that iota of patriotism which Richard Nixon showed, on August 9th, 1974.
Resign.

You Got Away With It Once, Cheney, But We're Watching You ... The Results - The Garlic's Weekly Poll
Perhaps, it was the festive momentum of our recent Cheneypalooza, but, more likely, our Garlic Poll Voters know - despite The Commutation Guy's heinous actions yesterday - that Vice President Dick Cheney committed treason in the outing of covert CIA Agent Valerie Plame.
So, it may be that the CIA was less in the market for redemption, but rather letting Darth Vader know that they can pull off his mask at the drop of a illegal wiretap.
And Cheney has to think, with all the spooks and black bag ops - the ones off-the-books, operating without any official backing or cover - that the hardcore alliance doesn't take kindly to a bloated, over-reaching, wannabe-warrior exposing one of their own.
The Bush Grindhouse can bury and burn all the records and emails it wants.
These guys know payback and the Vice President will have to live out the rest of his days, never knowing when it will come, or from what direction.
In a warped way, we're sure the Vice President will appreciate and respect the secrecy of such action

Judge says Libby, Libby, Libby, off to prison, prison, prison, he won't like, like, like it, pardon hopes fizzin', fizzin' fizzin'
Not even the 12 Angry Men could sway Judge Reggie Walton ...Nor could threats ...
The Scooter doesn't get to pass Go and collect $200 ... It's straight to jail for the former Assistant to the Vice President ... No waiting for the appeal in Aspen, he gets to stew in the big house ... He sits, behind bars, on Walton-Fitzgerald Time, not free time ...
And on The Garlic, It's A Scooterpalooza!

The Scooter Doesn't Skate ... New Garlic Song - Let's Jail Libby!
Well, Well, Well ...
No more aspens turning. No more lunches with Judy.
The Scooter doesn't skate. Hard time for one, royal hard-on.
Now, it remains to be seen if the Crony General and current Chief of Staff Josh Bolten rush over in the late of night to Judge Reggie Walton, imploring him to let The Scooter out on bail, so he can go through the charade of an appeal process, patiently tapping his toes, waiting for The Commander Guy, assuming his wrist isn't sore from signing Signing Statements, and pen his name to a pardon (that ground-shaking, like an earthquake, felt in the DC area around noontime today, was Cheney, with a head of steam, charging down to the Oval Office, red in face, foaming at the mouth, veins pulsing on his dome, demanding that pardon)
So, as we have in the past, The Garlic serenades The Scooter today, turning to the great Ray Charles' "Makin' Whoopie".
As always, sing along and let The Scooter hear you!Let's Jail Libby
Another lie, Another June
Another Bush-Cheney Goon
Another season, another reason
Let's Jail Libby
New terror news, where's Condi Rice
the Scooter is nervous. he answers twice
its so Killin that he's not spillin'
Let's Jail Libby
Picture a secret bunker
down where the neocons cling
picture the same secret bunker
Think what a smear can bring
He's washing files and Cheney's notes
He's so ambitious for Russert's shows
but don't forget folks thats what you get folks
Let's Jail Libby
Three years or maybe less
what's this I hear? Well you can't you guess
He feels neglected and he's suspected
Let's Jail Libby
He sits alone most every night
He doesn't phone Scooter, he doesn't write
Cheney says he's busy but Scooter say's "is he?"
Let's Jail Libby
He doesn't raise much money
Matalin's busier than a whore
some donors who thinks she's funny
says a pardon's gonna cost much more
Scooter says now judge suppose I fail
And Cheney says the check is in the mail
Scooter you better keep it, our little secret
Let's Jail Libby
you better keep it
our little secret
Let's Jail Libby

The Laura Bush Bummer Bombing-of-the Day
Warning - Bypass this post if you don't want to be discouraged.
As we announced previously, The Garlic will be presenting The Laura Bush Bummer Bombing-of-the Day as an on-going feature.
We might be able to assume that the First Lady is helping the Chief Decider figure out just what to do about his Crony General, Alberto Gonzales, so we're not sure she got discouraged with the news broadcast last evening.
Then, she may double-dip in her disappointment, after Valerie Plame finishes testifying today to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
No doubt it's likely to bum out the President and Vice President, that is, if they're not to busy, scurrying through emails they may have sent to, or received regarding the firing of the eight U.S. Attorneys.
